We cannot afford for our designed landscapes to be devoid of life any longer. Having a land ethic means enriching our landscapes with ecologically relevant plants; the foundation of all terrestrial food webs, including our own.

"Garden raising" or "permablitz" events bring neighbors together to rapidly convert neighborhood spaces (public and private...parks and backyards) from wasted space to thriving land. When people make gardens together, great things happen.

When we know the laws of nature we can respect them. When we respect the laws of nature our landscapes come to life. It's less maintenance but more of everything else: more birds, more butterflies, more food, more fun.
